A is for... Artistic

Autumn/Winter patterns are reminiscent of art work, be it geometric like the 60s or scribbles and doodles as seen at Burberry.

Seen all over the catwalk, red is a hot colour this season. Wear in any shade you like, as long as it's red, it's right!

Capes are back! But if they aren't for you, wear your coat over your shoulders, cape-style.

D is for... Dappper

Channel the androgynous look with crisp shirts and sharp tailoring. This season, best worn head-to-toe block colour.

E is for... Embellishment

Even top print designers such as Mary Katrantzou opted for embellishment over print for AW14. This is one sparkly season!

F is for... Fairytale Fantasy

Woodland creatures at both Valentino and Dolce and Gabbana, Game of Thrones at McQueen and Little Riding Hood at Fendi, there was an overall fairytale fantasy theme on the catwalks this season.

G is for... Glitter

Glittery fabrics were a very popular choice with the designers. Seen on everything from skirts to suits and outerwear.

H is for... Hairy

And by that, I mean fur! It is making a huge comeback!

J is for... Jungle Fever

Animal patterns is on the biggest trends right now. A key piece seen across many catwalks is the leopard print coat.

K is for... Knit Head-to-Toe

Make a statement with your knitwear, wear head-to-toe for full impact. Chanel even had knitted tweed sunglasses...

L is for... Lace Up

Lace up footwear is a big trend this season, whether it be trainers, heels or boots, the more laces the better.

M is for... Mini Bags

One of the cutest trends this season is the mini handbag, adorable! Not the most practical trend but don't worry, oversized bags are still in style. Keep it dainty or keep it bold. Another bag trend for AW14 is fun packaging - see Moschino for ideas.

N is for... Newcomer Danielle Romeril

Danielle Romeril's label has only been around for 2 years so far but she is one to watch with her youthful and contemporary yet nostalgic designs. I lover her AW14 collection with a 60s feel.

O is for... Outerwear

Outerwear is getting better each season, more and more designers are getting creative with their coats and jackets. Waterfall coats as seen at Chloe are particularly popular along with plastic or sporty raincoats. I love Balenciaga's plastic cable knit one!

Whether traditional like Prada, abstract like Missoni or layered like Jonathan Saunders, patchwork is in!

Q is for... Quliting

Quilting is back but this time it's not just restricted to outerwear.

Biggest comebacks are from the 60s and 70s but if you don't want to let go of the 90s just yet, you're in luck.

The 90s sportswear revival takes a slightly more glamorous and refined approach.

Wrap up warm this winter as high-necks are super stylish. Layer a rollneck under your clothing, wear a turtleneck coat or scarf it up.

Rodarte's collection this season was full of Star Wars references with images of Yoda, R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker printed across garments.

KTZ AW14 at London Fashion Week

Urban brand KTZ are influenced by eastern ethnic silhouettes and pattern. Layered, hooded and mirror embellished outfits dazzled on the catwalk this afternoon. It is clear that strong pattern is a key aesthetic for this brand who's streetwear influence also comes through in the sporty jackets and use of rib.

Religious references ran through the collection with hooded designs and eastern patterns. KMT often use social and religious difference as references for their designs which is explored through the freely moving billowing material contrasted with the heavy, restrictive jewellery worn around the neck.

Stand out pieces for me were the all-over sequin hooded dress and the head-to-toe gold ribbon outfit that looked like metallic armour.

Charlie May AW14 at London Fashion Week

After a VERY windy start I arrived at the Oxo Tower at South Bank for the Charlie May show. Once seated, I read about the inspiration behind the collection - the rugged, windswept landscapes of Devon - and felt like my weatherbeaten hair fit in quite well... Along with a brief description about the work, guests were given a free 'crodough' from Rinkoff Bakeries. That's a mix between a croissant and donut - very tasty!

The collection itself was minimalist with clean lines and monochromatic colour scheme mixed with navy. I loved the exaggerated, long ribbed sleeves on the knitwear and oversized roll necks. It created a very interesting silhouette.

May used Mongolian fur and pony skin to mimic the textures seen in the natural landscapes of Devon and this made for some beautiful outerwear pieces and sheen on dresses and skirts.

There was a lot of attention to detail in the construction of the garments from panelled pieces to small tucks at the neck on tops and dresses. One of my favourite details was a pair of trousers with slits across the knees.

To accessorise, May collaborated with New York milliner, Gigi Burris to create school boy felt hats which, along with the tailoring, gave the collection an androgynous feel. To finish off, outfits were completed with tread sole, chunky trainers in crisp white.

Eudon Choi AW14 at London Fashion Week

I was very impressed with Eudon Choi's show today at London Fashion Week. The collection featured a lot of soft tailoring with an overall sophisticated yet relaxed look. There was a lot of attention to detail with ruffled cuffs, shawl collars and long knitted fingerless gloves revealed under layered looks. 

Asymmetric paneling was a key theme throughout the collection with fur trims or shawl accessories. Colours were bold in cobalt blue and red paired with subdued khaki and grey with crisp white - a  lovely refined palette.

Outerwear may be Choi's signature style and he did not disappoint. Plaid, double breasted coats came in all shapes and sizes and fur was key for outerwear from all over to patchworked.

Large structured bags were held like clutches and footwear was bright and fun.
