David Koma AW14 at London Fashion Week

I cannot describe how much I loved David Koma's show at LFW today. There were some really beautiful techniques used within the collection including leather weaves, cutouts and sheer panelling. Inspiration came from the portrayal of women in Renaissance paintings. Koma took this and turned dresses into sharp, structured corset style designs with hand-woven leather strips.

Supple leather, ponyskin and flocked chiffon came in a palette of black, cobalt blue, grey and violet, highlighted by a few cream pieces.

The fitted silhouette was contrasted with boxy outerwear, loose fitting trousers and bell-shaped sleeves. This brought a more masculine edge to this season's collection.

My favourite details were the cutouts, off-shoulder necklines and woven strips.

Shoe designer, Alain Quilici collaborated with Koma to create open-toe boots and cutout sandals.

John Lobb AW 14 at London Collections: Men

So today was my last day at LCM and now that I have stopped to take a breath after all the running around London, I have realised just how tired I am! It's been a great week full of new experiences and and I've seen some truly amazing work in the world of menswear. My last stop was at the Bloomsbury Ballroom where the John Lobb presentation took place.
Set in a dimly lit room, the bright installations really stood out. Shoes displayed against a backdrop of London streets and architecture displaying footwear for the working man. Live models were also used which added interest to the room. Have a look through the photos to get a feel for the brand.

Thom Sweeney AW14 at London Collections: Men

First stop today at LCM was Thom Sweeney's Mayfair store. The showroom was sophisticated and elegant, reflecting the intricately tailored designs on display. Suits were made of the highest quality Italian wool and soft cashmere and the collection prides itself on being light, relaxed and slim fitting. Thom Sweeney's aesthetic involves a mix of bespoke tailoring with a contemporary edge. This is a true  modern gentleman's label.

I won't go into too much detail as the pictures speak for themselves and you can view my full report here: http://wjlondon.com/lcm-thom-sweeney-aw14/
